S.O.S: It can't get worse than yesterday!!!

Today’s Mantra

Ø  Someday Saturday Night

Ø  Everyday

Today’s lyrical focus
Ø  I'm feelin' like a Monday but someday I'll be Saturday night
Ø  It can't get worse than yesterday
Ø  Now I can't say my name, and tell you where I am..I want to roll myself away, don't know if I can…I wish that I could be in some other time and place…With someone else's soul, someone else's face
Ø  I’m going to find a way

"I'm in better hands now"

When Billy Jean realized that deep within her heart was a tendency to do the wrong thing she was able to get on the path of recovery.
We all have desires that pull us or tempt us to go in the opposite direction of God. For some reason we think we have control over people, places and things. When we live this lie we lose control of ourselves.

Jim and Billy Jean came to realize that their lives wouldn’t change if they didn’t give up all their control to God a greater power than themselves. They accepted the fact that because of their pain and loss they were making wrong decisions and choices.

We need to realize that the delusion of control is the toughest thing to accept. We can admit it but do we accept it? I think Jim and Billy Jean reached a point when they said, “I can’t control my pain anymore through these behaviors.” If I want to be Saturday night I need to give up control and get some help.

Powerlessness means using against our will. If we can't stop, how can we tell ourselves we are in control? The inability to stop our bad habits and hang ups, even with the greatest willpower and the most sincere desire, is what we mean when we say, "We have absolutely no choice". (Narcotics Anonymous Basic Text)

Admitting weakness can be one of the toughest things you have to do in your life, but if you want to be Saturday Night you need to learn how to say Help Me and learn how to be a humble person.

WE DON'T RUN

I'm not afraid of burning bridges ... cause I know they're gonna light my way (JB)

My dad taught me to never burn bridges, but sometimes you have to especially when your taking a risk and getting out of the boat. When opportunity arises you need to seize it. When God calls you to another place you need to move. Remember God's ways are not our ways. Yes it feels uncomfortable but you need to make the move especially if God has closed a door in your life and wants you to walk through another one.(Click)... Remember it's not about you. Walk through that door and experience the blessing. I don't know about you but I don't want to be where God's anointing isn't. Make sense?

I believe God sent Jesus to burn bridges. His children had Him all wrong. So He sent His Son to set it straight. Jesus shocked the religious leaders. Jesus broke their traditions. Man made to many rules and lost track of God's ways of living. They crafted God's ways to suit their needs. So.. Jesus was sent to burn the bridge because it was leading to hell. Because of God's love for you and I. The way that seems right to man leads to death my friend.

503 Dairies: Someone Else

There's not a day that doesn't go by I wonder "what happen?" Where did you go? Is this a dream? I want to wake up and when I do ... I can't keep my eyes open. I want to dream, At least your real there. Loss seems to be chasing me these days. I run but it hunts me down. It's my shadow.

The thought of someone else.... ugh. On one hand I want you to experience happiness and never have to experience turning tables. Losing someone hurts but if you truly love them you should let them go, one day you'll be reunited. If not that's okay too.

Missing You

Hi Daddy... I miss you! This all seems so unreal. When I slow down my heart feels like led. I will stay strong. This is harder than I thought it would.

I've experience so much loss. I think about you everyday. Some days are better than others. I can see you sitting in your favorite chair which I can't wait to get from mom and bring to my place. I will sit in that chair ever day Daddy.

LOVE IS THE ANSWER

Edgar Allen Poe once said, "We loved with a love that was more than love." Love is absent of fear. Fear stops our ability to love. If you love someone in your life show them. Don't hide it. Time is short and live without regret. If they don't love you back that's okay... follow your heart, that way you will be exempt from regret and pain.

Love has a cost to it. In fact I think its expensive, not in a monetary way. Love hurts at times. Give that hurt a different meaning. Don't associate pain to love, associate joy to love. Remember trust God with your heart and He will protect it.

I am nothing special, of this I am sure. I am a common man with common thoughts and I've led a common life. There are no monuments dedicated to me and my name will soon be forgotten, but I've loved another with all my heart and soul, and to me, this has always been enough. (Notebook)

GoodBye Daddy

Well Daddy today we have to say goodbye. The next time I see you will be in heaven. I expect you will be waiting for me by the Gates of Paradise. I hope God has you stationed in Hawaii. You love Hawaii Daddy. I can't wait to see you again Daddy. You will have a new body... no more pain and suffering. I hope you still have your tattoos. I plan on getting a few more. Your going to be one of them. Your my heart Daddy. I'm not ready for this, but I will stand my ground and be strong like you showed me.

Daddy you were a strong man. I saw that often. You fought till the end. You never gave up.

Daddy I'm making a lot of changes in my life and you will be proud. My life has changed so much and now even more. You were there when I needed you. You never said no to me. You were the best listener I ever had.

Your a great man Daddy. See you later.

Love you Daddy XO

STAND YOUR GROUND

Today’s Mantra

Ø  Everyday

Today’s lyrical focus
Ø  When the world keeps trying, to drag me down…I've gotta raise my hands, gonna stand my ground

“Stand your ground. Don't fire unless fired upon. But if they mean to have a war, let it begin here.”
                                                                                                    ~ John Parker

There are times when it’s so hard to stand our ground.  If someone calls us out we can’t back down. We need to face the situation and fight. How about you, when a challenge is before you, do you have a hard time standing your ground?  If you do what are the reasons?

 Successful people like:
1.      Tommy and Gina stood their ground.
2.      Bob Dylon stood his ground. His music represented his life. He remained true to what was important to him even if it meant losing some fans. His standards took priority over societies. He sung and fought for what he believed in. His attitude was … I ain't gonna do what I don't want to…I'm gonna live my life.
3.      Martin Luther King Jr stood his ground. Dr. King was one of the most heroic and respected leaders of the Civil Rights Movement. He sacrificed his life for the dream of equal rights.   He represents freedom and justice to millions of people. His example, his works, and his accomplishments changed the world Americans live in, and helped to built better relationships between races. Dr. King's life tells us about the importance and the value of freedom in our world. If the world is without freedom, justice, and equal rights, we need to change it, but it does take sacrifice. His attitude was … I ain't gonna do what I don't want to…I'm gonna live my life.
4.      Walt Disney stood his ground. Walt and his brother Roy  where beat by their father on a regular basis; all it took was not living up to his expectations. His attitude was … I ain't gonna do what I don't want to…I'm gonna live my life.

Consider this…

1.      It is time to stand our ground for God. Whatever’s going on it’s happening for a reason. God will use your situation to help you grow. It might not feel that way right know, hang in there. Patience and diligence, like faith, remove mountains (William Penn).

2.      Characteristics of champions (Gould, D., Diffenback, K., & Moffett, A.)

An ability to cope with and control anxiety.

Confidence

Mental toughness/resiliency

Sport intelligence

An ability to focus and block distractions

Competitiveness

A hard-work ethic

An ability to set and achieve goals

  Coach-ability

  High levels of dispositional hope

  Optimism

Adaptive perfectionism

So what did you check off? For the statements you didn’t check off what can you do to develop those qualities? I realize…
  1. The key statements I need to remember and work on are…
  2. The positive consequences of remembering and working on these statements will be
